As I was sitting in service yesterday listening to a great Christmas message again by pastor Brian, something was eating at me and I couldn't put a finger on it. Then as I asking God today what it was and it hit me, how come everyone gets into the "Christmas spirit", sing songs about the baby Jesus, wonder how Mary felt, and as soon as the tree comes down its back to "life as normal". My thoughts were brought to the Wisemen, everyone thinks of them as a big part, and they were but what next? These men came from afar, dedicated months of their lives looking for the King, bringing gifts that were worth more than we can think of, and worshiping the King they had found(Matt. 2:11). You say exactly! they were awesome! we need to be like that.....wrong! Wait a minute, before you kick me out of ministry listen for a minute. After they worshiped the baby, God Himself talked to them, this would be a pivotal point in any life. Only in theirs we never hear about them again, sure they may have been great men of God but I believe if they were God would have said so. I might be reading to much into this but it hit me like a sledge hammer! They worshiped, gave gifts, and left......did you hear that they LEFT! So many of us sing Christmas songs, buy presents to be like God in the gift He gave, and then its over. Like the Wisemen(are so they are called) we forget about Jesus until Easter....God forgive us for not loving the God in flesh that came for us to have a relationship with DAILY!
