Home - Ministries - Short Term Missions
Blessed Hope Church believes in short-term missions as an opportunity for people to be involved in the life of the church. "...Short-term mission projects are excellent faith training ventures for people in all phases of their spiritual journey..." There are countless individuals who on a short-term missions trip realized their need for Jesus Christ as a part of the journey. You are invited to be a part of what God is doing through Blessed Hope as He calls us to be more involved in our community and around the world.
If you participate on a missions team through Blessed Hope you will be equipped to meet physical and spiritual needs as you serve. "The blending of meeting physical and spiritual needs has been called 'servant evangelism.'" This means we make a difference in the quality of life that people have by using our resources to provide for others and as a result we are able to share our faith by proclaiming the message of Jesus Christ.
Before leaving on a missions trip you will receive training from a Short-Term Mission Guide. The training offered is called Transforming Missionaries. This training is required for all team members and has to be completed before leaving. The training is completed over the course of the final months leading up to departure. Not only does this insure you will be properly equipped, but it requires an initial commitment. We realize short term missions trips are designed to allow you the opportunity to give. However, regardless of how much you give you will always receive more than you give. Short term missions will change your life.

Our local homeless shelter runs a 30 day program for individuals needing refuge and housing. Currently there is an opportunity to be involved once a month in a Sunday morning service held at the shelter. Other opportunities include delivering food and transporting individuals to Durham Rescue Mission.
